Kukhak-kigong is a re-creation of ancient Korea's unique mind-body training method as a life sport for a modern lifestyle.
Kukhak-kigong's training methods, such as kigong exercise, and breathing meditation, are based on the Hongik spirit that seeks to develop the body and mind to benefit all lives and all people.
It started as a free training in the park in 1980 and has evolved into the International Kukhak-Kigong Association and the Korea Kukhak-Kigong Association.
The Korea Kukhak-Kigong Association was registered as a regular member of the the Korean Sports & Olympic Commitee under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2016. Its practices have been shared in schools and public offices and the Association currently has 200,000 club members around the world.
Kukhak-Kigong training has a level system from the white belt, which is the most basic level, to the blue belt, red belt, brown belt, 1st Dan, 2nd Dan, 3rd Dan, 4th Dan, and highest level 5th Dan, depending on the length of practice and degree of proficiency in Kukhak-Kigong.
